My career path has been varied and extremely rewarding. I began my artistic pursuits in college and received a bachelor's degree in music education from West Texas State University and a master's degree in piano performance from the University of North Texas. I returned to school and earned a master's in Liberal Studies in creative writing from Southern Methodist University in 2016. I also co-owned a retail print music business for almost 30 years.
In 2013 I left the retail world and worked in the non-profit world at Madeleine Crouch & Co., serving as Executive Director of Leica Society International from 2014-2024, as well as other non-profit music organizations.
During my years in the music business, I pursued my love of photography and became a part-time professional photographer in the late 1990s. I've gained valuable experience and knowledge through my association with the Professional Photographers Association, Texas Professional Photographers Association, the Dallas Professional Photographers Association, attending workshops and conferences, and with on-the-job training!
To be able to blend my three loves, music, photography, and writing, has been a dream come true. Each discipline informs the other and I am a better photographer, musician and writer because of it.
I love working with my clients, but I also love working on personal projects. One of my most successful projects was "What Music Means to Me" was published as a book and was featured in a 10 month exhibit at the Museum of Making Music in Anaheim, CA. Its purpose was to raise public awareness of the value of music in education and in the quality of life, giving a voice to music students through their own experiences. I've worked on other projects that include teachers, creatives, dancers, and a self-portrait project.
